January 6, 2012 on the nature trail we found insect trails. It might have been from carpenter ants or termites. We could not find the bark that was on the tree. The insects might have ate it.

The Rock Wall
Why would some rock wall be in the middle of a forest? The pilgrims and other settlers had farm walls made of rock to keep cows and other wildlife animals that can’t get in the territory. Also, can you imagine all the rocks and minerals that are in New England? There are like more than 100 rocks and minerals here. I mean there are a lot of granite kitchen counters because of all of the rocks and minerals. Even my kitchen counter is made of granite.
Golden leaves
I took a picture of golden leaves on the ground. It made me think of when I help clean up brush. (Fallen sticks from trees.) It is also beautiful to see golden on the ground. It could be useful to make a birds nest so they can survive.
The Climbing Bittersweet
The Climbing Bittersweet is a type of vine. The flowers show in the spring. The color of the berries are orange and red. The habitat is in the woods and the river banks.

Watching Worms
Earthworms go in dirt to live. They don’t like the sun. They come up if danger is in the dirt or for getting wet. Earthworms like getting really really moist a lot.

Berries
We went on the nature trail. We saw berries that were different types of colors. There were little tiny dots when I looked up close. I thought they were poisonous. The colors were blue , purple, and green. There were berries growing on leaves. Some were big and small and the berries were everywhere.
Blue Jay
When my partner and I went on the nature trail we saw a bird house. And guess what we saw inside it? We saw the the head of a Blue Jay. Its beak was black and its head was blue. The birds house was made out of sticks. It was really cool.
Berries
Our class went on the nature trail at the Abbot School. We saw something cool and it was berries. The interesting berries were green, blue, purple, white and yellow. The berries grew on spiky green vines with green leaves.
