Golden Valley

I went on the nature and I found a bunch of golden leaves! I can actually tell you some facts about leaves so are you with me? Okay let’s go! Don’t you know why leaves change colors? It’s because the leaves are dying. When a leaf is alive it’s green and when it’s dead it’s brown. Some leaves are awfully large! Didn’t you know that leaves even had relatives! Did you know that leaves were here before dinosaurs? Wow leaves are really interesting!

The Broken Bridge

Normally, on a Thursday, we go on a Nature Walk. Recently, we went around the whole loop, and saw The Broken Bridge. The only way we knew about it before was because some of the other kids in the class heard 5th graders talking about it. (I didn’t know until someone told me.) It’s actually just a stream with rocks to hop across, and some logs to connect the last rock to the other side of the river. I wonder if we will cross the bridge in the spring?

Flower Seed Pods

These flowers are 40 inches tall. We don’t know what the name is though.  We don’t know what it is yet because all the flowers and plants are dying  because it is close to winter!  The color of the seed pod is light brown with points on the ends. The stem is very long and is the same color as the flower seed pods. The plant looks similar to a rose,  but it looks like they stretched it out.
