Spider Egg
There are different spiders in the world. There are daddy long legs and so much more. They all lay different eggs and I found an egg. I don’t know what kind of spider laid that egg. I know it is a spider egg because I saw a spider egg before. Pretty much all spiders make webs. Spiders catch bugs and wrap them around with their thing that they make there webs with. Then they attach the bugs to the web. What type of spider do you think it is?
The Arch
Hole
In my class we are finding signs of spring. I found a hole on March 17th, 2012. It might have been a snake hole. Snakes live in swampy marshes, high lands, forests, rocky places and holes. It could have been a chipmunk hole. Eastern chipmunks live in Massachusetts. That is where the hole was. They live in wooded areas, holes and trees. I know they live in underground and up high in trees. The hole could have been a rabbit hole. They live in holes also. They live in burrows and holes. I wonder what animal it was? It was not a rabbits hole because the hole was too small.
Moss
Fireflies
Wintergreen
This plant is considered rare in Canada and New England and is protected by the law in some states. From 1820 to 1916 Native Americans of various tribes had a number of uses for the plant. It treats kidney and stomach problem. As a tonic it can be used for flavoring medicines. If the leaves touch the skin it can cause redness.

Why Stone Walls are in the Woods
Why are stone walls in the woods? Stone walls are in the woods because farmers used to farm there. They used the rocks to keep their animals in the farmers property. They also had them there because when they lived there then there were a lot of other houses so they had stone walls so they could see where their property was. That is why there were stone walls in the woods.
Stream and Moss
On the nature trail we saw a small stream and some moss. The stream was surrounded by small rocks and trees covered with moss. Water is a huge sign of spring. It means the snow has melted away. You know winter is over when you see a small stream with water.
