Earth Worms
We saw an earthworm under a rock on the nature trail. It was on my arm and it was gross! Earthworms have mouths but do not have eyes, ears, or noses. They range from one to eight inches in length. Most earthworms are pinkish brown. Worm’s tunnels aid other organisms. Plants grow roots into them, and insects travel through them.
Now you know how helpful earthworms are!
The Weird Mushroom
One day my teacher took me on a nature walk and guess what I found? A weird a mushroom under a tree. It was maybe called a Waxy Cap. It is orange and had red dot in the middle. But watch out they could be poisonous.
Pale Touch-Me-Not (Jewelweed)
One day I went on a little walk, a nature walk that is. The most amazing thing I found was the Pale Touch-Me-Not (Jewelweed). When you pick off a pod it pops! It is so amazing. It was a great experience. When I go home I will ask my mom to plant some. That was one of the times I went on the nature walk. And yes I will have another nature walk.
Lamb’s ear
It sometimes has been used for a medical plant. The Lamb’s Ear is like an herb. It does not bloom much. It’s a hairy plant. It is silver and white. The plant is 18 inches long. It has a spike-like stem and it seems to grow almost anywhere. It’s like a long weed.
Abbot Nature Trail
When I went on the nature trail I saw an engine, a birdhouse and white trail markers. I noticed there were lots of bees where the flowers were growing.
