Berries

I saw some cool different berries on the nature trail. There were berries everywhere, there where blue, purple, pink, white, red, and green berries. They looked good to eat but if you eat them you probably get sick. They grow on vines and the vines go all over the trees and bushes.

Blue Berries!

On the nature walk I saw blue berries! Some of  them were just growing. The high bushes can grow up to 12 feet tall. Also, the short blueberry shrubs grow from 1 to 3 feet tall! Blueberry flowers start blooming in the spring. Many, many animals like to eat blueberries like foxes, deer, bears, opossums, bluebirds, cranes, chipmunks, squirrels and more. Blueberries usually grow in small clusters. Blueberries are  blue and round. Also, they ripen in July and August. Some blueberry leaves are dark green with very narrow oval leaves from 1 to 3 inches long. Others are shiny light green less than 1 inch long and are very thin. Also, this fruit is the size of a pea.

Birdhouses

There are lots of birdhouses on the Abbot Nature Trail. The homes are used for the birds that live near Abbot school. These houses can be found deep within the woods near Abbot school. Birdhouses can have all types of birds in them. These shelters are found on trees.
